Dr Jabed Choudhury

I obtained my Ph.D. in 2019 on the "Mathematical Modelling of Fungal Interactions". My research is focussed on using continuum models to model how fungal mycelia respond to external triggers. In particular, my recent work with Graeme Boswell and Philip Trevelyan has involved the development of the first model of the acquisition of iron by fungi through the use of siderophores, essentially microscopic compounds released by micro-organisms that promote iron solubility and transport. These models are investigated using a combination of analytical techniques and numerical integration.
