Title: Predictive Maintenance using Live Sensor Data
Abstract: Mass Production and Large Scale Manufacturing is fundamental to life in the 21st century. More and more processes are using machines to automate manufacturing. However as large-scale equipment dominates manufacturing, maintaining these machines becomes even more important. Predictive Maintenance is the leading maintenance strategy that combines the use of sensors and data science techniques to determine a machine's operating conditions, and to predict when optimal maintenance should be conducted. This research explores the implementation of predictive maintenance in steel manufacturing. It primarily focuses on a case study turned publication conducted at the University of South Wales, which looks at a system capable of identifying differing operating conditions within a machine. Current and future work looks to use the latest techniques to update the system founded by this research to create an automated predictive maintenance system.
